Our featured speaker is Zac Jarrard. Zac Jarrard is the President of Jarrard Consulting, LLC. The company is dedicated to bringing out the best in people through team building activities, project management training, and workshops to improve intergenerational communication at work. Zac holds a Master of Science in Information Systems and Business Analytics, MPA and MBA from Park University. His research interests include gamification, project management, and working across different generations. Outside of his company, Zac is heavily involved in the community. He is a proud ASQ senior member who serves as the Chair of the Kansas City Section. Zac is an Eagle Scout who aspires to make the world a better place for everyone.
The tutorial topic is "Risk Mitigation Planning.” Risk mitigation is a key aspect of risk management. This can help reduce risk and prepare teams for how to address problems if they occur. Participants will work through scenarios where they create their own risk mitigation and contingency plans.
After the tutorial will be our program for the evening. The topic is "The Quality Manager as Risk Manager: A Deep Dive into Risk Management." Risk management is an important aspect of quality. If risks are not managed properly, it could jeopardize quality and harm organizations. This could lead to frustration, delays, lawsuits, and loss of resources. Effective risk management is an essential part of leading successful projects and quality initiatives. This session will 1) examine the purpose of risk management 2) discuss the key elements of risk management 3) share lessons learned from experience.
