Further, the approach is applicable not only with your suppliers, but also for internal audits as well. Find out how you can add value through the audit process.
This presentation helps identify the value-added approach to auditing as more effective than current practices. Several case studies are discussed to help explain this approach. The examples of value-added are described along with how they can be implemented.
Biography
James “Gunny” Shore is a seasoned professional in the field of quality and supplier management, bringing over three decades of expertise to his role as Chief Quality Officer at Quality Lean Solutions. His extensive background spans various high-stakes industries, including medical devices, semiconductors, aerospace, and defense. His career includes notable positions at Titan Medical, Lake Region, Nypro Healthcare, Boston Scientific, Aspect Medical, ACMI, Brooks Automation, and Raytheon.
At Quality Lean Solutions, Shore applies his deep knowledge to offer Simple Sustainable Solutions™ for companies in the medical device and high-tech sectors. His work includes value-added auditing services, lean manufacturing, developing quality management systems, aiding transitions to EU Medical Device Regulations, and performing inspections to American Association of Tissue Banks standards.
Shore’s credentials include a range of certifications: ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Manager/Operations Excellence, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Mechanical Inspector, and ASQ Senior Member. He is also a Certified Welding Inspector and Test Supervisor with the American Welding Society. Additionally, he co-authored the book “Proactive Supplier Quality Management in the Medical Device Industry,” with all royalties donated to veteran service organizations.
Before his career in quality management, Shore served honorably in the United States Marine Corps for 15 years as a Helicopter Crew Chief/Door Gunner, reaching the rank of Gunnery Sergeant (E-7). His military background underscores his leadership skills and commitment to excellence.
