The Presentation: In 1996, Dorian Shainin became the 16th ASQ Honorary Member, joining the ranks of such quality giants as Shewhart, Deming and Juran. In 2004 the ASQ Board of Directors established a medal in Dorian’s honor to recognize innovative approaches for improving quality and reliability.
Shainin's Honorary member citation reads, in part, "To a true quality paradigm pioneer, who created a process of down-to earth problem-solving strategies that have improved product and service quality and reliability."
This webinar will describe Dorian’s contributions to our society and to the quality profession. It will include a case study that illustrates his pioneering approach to solving complex problems.
Most importantly, it will discuss the standards for the Shainin Medal with an example of the exemplary nomination for one of the Shainin Medalists.
