Managing Complex Change is NOT Easy

This presentation will describe the author Rolf Smith’s 7 levels of change which are:  1. Effectiveness, 2. Efficiency, 3. Improving, 4. Cutting, 5. Adapting, 6. Doing Different and 7. Breakthrough.

Typically, the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) practitioner is attempting to improve an existing process by reinventing it to be more efficient, effective, and consistent while cutting out waste.  When running a typical Lean Six Sigma project the LSS practitioner has 3 main objectives – understand the current process, analyze the process for cost, time, and quality performance, and then transform the process.  The LSS team is focused mainly on the Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 to map, analyze, eliminate waste, and standardize the process.  This presentation will help the audience leverage the 7 Levels of Change to achieve breakthrough change by challenging the LSS practitioner to start thinking differently.
