The US Steel Edgar Thompson Plant is a primary steelmaking facility located in Braddock, PA. Facilities include two blast furnaces, two basic oxygen (BOP) vessels, a vacuum degasser, and a continuous caster. Established in 1875, it was Andrew Carnegie's first steel mill. The mill has an annual capacity of over 2 million tons of slabs, most of which are then rolled across the river at the Irvin plant.
