Quality Audits: Practical Strategies to Increase Success for Quality Professionals

Gayle Lewis, CQA, SHRM-CP
Human Resources Director and Quality Manager
Would you like to gain insights into best practices for conducting effective internal audits, auditing external partners, and navigating regulatory audits with confidence? If so, this presentation is for you!
We will explore practical strategies for effectively conducting and not just surviving internal, supplier, and regulatory audits that go beyond basic compliance.
Included will be information about risk-based audit planning, process-focused auditing, and common audit pitfalls, along with techniques for writing meaningful findings and driving corrective action.
Attendees will gain insight into supplier audit approaches, regulatory audit readiness and response, as well as the human factors that influence audit success, with an emphasis on using audit results as tools for risk management and continuous improvement.
About the Speaker: Gayle Lewis is an ASQ-Certified Quality Auditor and SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) with over 25 years of hands-on experience conducting and supporting internal, external, and regulatory quality audits. In her work as a Senior Quality Manager, she partnered with her own and other organizations to strengthen audit programs, prepare for third-party assessments, and turn audit findings into meaningful corrective and preventive action.
With a focus on risk-based auditing, process effectiveness, and auditor-auditee collaboration, Gayle brings a practical perspective that balances technical compliance with the human side of quality systems.
Note: Following the presentation there will be a short Spokane ASQ section meeting, for members to introduce themselves and get to know each other a little.
Registered attendees will receive 0.1 RUs.
