About the presenter:
Norma S. Simons is the President of Performance Innovation, a technical and professional development training and consulting firm. Performance Innovation is focused on transferring the skills of employees from the classroom to their area of work. This is done through coaching sessions, onsite training and live webinar workshops. Throughout her career, she has customized and delivered several Green Belt programs for higher education. Norma has also implemented performance management systems for several global manufacturing organizations (Including a Fortune 500 company), resulting in significant cost reductions. She also has experience preparing applications for organizations pursuing a state-level Baldrige
Award.
Norma has a Master’s degree from Wayne State University in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research, a Bachelor’s degree from the University of the West Indies (Jamaica) in Biology & Chemistry, and is a certified teacher. In addition, she has earned several American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications, including the Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer, and Certified Reliability Engineer certifications. She also has served as a Senior Examiner for the Michigan Quality Council, and is a Fellow of the ASQ.
