Abstract: Move aside Taguchi, no offense Shingo, don't take it so hard Shewhart, there's a new king gorilla of Quality Management and his name is Donkey Kong.Turns out the team at Nintendo taught us all a lot more than we thought about quality management and risk-based thinking. Your parents lamented the hours you spent playing video games when you should have been doing homework. You weren't goofing off, you were considering risks and opportunities in accordance with ISO 9001 section 6.1. I invite entry level, mid-career, executives and retired professionals to join me as I take you through a nostalgic, fun, and easy way to understand one of the most complicated parts of Quality Management Systems: risk-based management. I’ll walk participants through how to define risk-based thinking specific to their organization and how to explain it in common-sense ways to other process owners and colleagues.
