LED is built and sustained by volunteers. Our webinars, online journal, committees, and member initiatives exist because practitioners choose to contribute a small amount of time to advance the Lean community. In this panel discussion, current members of the LED leadership team—some newer to their roles, some more experienced—share what it’s really like to volunteer with LED. They’ll talk openly about the work they do, the actual time commitment involved, what surprised them, and why they continue to stay engaged. If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved and wondered whether you have the time, the skills, or the confidence, this session is designed to give you clear, practical answers.Topics include:Volunteer roles such as organizing and hosting webinars, contributing to the online LED journal, and serving on committeesWhat a typical commitment of about two hours per month looks like in real lifeSkills you develop as a volunteer or content creator—facilitation, teaching, writing, leadership, and collaborationNetworking and visibility opportunities that are difficult to find in most workplace settingsHow volunteering with LED supports both personal growth and professional developmentWho should attend:LED members interested in volunteering or contributing contentMembers who want to teach, host, write, or support the community without overcommittingPractitioners looking to expand their network and involvement within LEDFormat: Live panel discussion with Q&ASpecific volunteer opportunities and next steps will be shared at the end of the session.Panelists will be LED member leaders who are both newer in their roles and long-time volunteers talking about the benefits of getting engaged with LED.
