Description: A Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) is a structured, systematic method used to identify and prioritize potential failures in a process, along with their causes and effects, so risks can be eliminated or mitigated with effective and proactive controls before they occur. It is widely and universally used in a variety of industries, during Solution Development as well as Preventive and Corrective activities for existing solutions. PFMEA is part of broader risk management frameworks such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Lean and Six Sigma CI Initiatives.
