This problem-solving training course provides a clear and concise introduction to a structured approach for clearly defining problems and identifying and verifying their root cause(s). It provides a step-by-step problem-solving methodology and introduces several quality tools, including the Cause & Effect / Fishbone Diagram, Is / Is Not, 5 Why, Pareto chart, Impact Effort Matrix, and Interrelationship Diagram. Participants will learn how to make their future problem-solving efforts more valuable and meaningful, resulting in the prevention of repeated problems.
The learning objectives of this workshop are to help attendees develop skills necessary to:
* Assure that a problem is well-defined
* Identify and verify the root causes of the problem
* Explore various possible solutions to a problem and selecting the solution(s) to be implemented
This workshop is designed for managers, engineers, scientists, and other professionals involved in their organizations’ problem-solving and corrective action efforts, as well as anyone interested in improving their problem-solving skills and corrective action processes.
Biography
Laura Halleck has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality
engineering, quality assurance, and process improvement (Six Sigma) for the
Automotive, Electronic, and Aerospace and Defense Industries. Her background
includes quality system development and implementation, supplier quality management,
and internal and second-party audits to the following standards: ISO 9001, AS9100,
IATF 16949, ISO 13485, ISO 14001.
As a Senior Consultant with Quality Support Group (QSG), Laura specializes in guiding
organizations through quality management systems certification and maintenance,
including gap assessments, systems implementation, training, and internal auditing. Her
training specialties also include Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, 8D Structured Problem Solving, Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA, and Control Plan), and Aerospace APQP and PPAP per AS9145.
Laura received an M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, an M.S. in
Industrial & Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in
Industrial & Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
