Resources For Software QA

Hope this discussion finds you and your family safe and in a positive mental state of health.

Hi ASQ Community,

Can I please be directed to ASQ Resources on Quality Assurance related to software? If none, feel free to recommend non-ASQ resources.

Specifically, I am interested in knowing more about 1) SW Development, 2) Stage-Gates, and 3) Common Metrics used to measure success before and after product launch. I also welcome methods you’ve used to bridge collaboration efforts–if you are HW focused–through the product’s lifecycle.

Context:

My Quality role interacts more and more with SW experts. Although my QA expertise is HW focused, I recognize that the customer may not distinguish between the two when experiencing a pain point.

Kelvin,

Most anyone on the Software Division leadership team would be happy to help you. You can email me directly at npasquan@eyes-on.us. Also check out Linda Westfall's Software Excellence Academy. Her theme this month is testing.

I've been developing software for 50 years. One of the easiest ways I have found to deal with software defects is what I call the “Dirty 30 Process for Six Sigma Software”. Here's the PDF.
