An external auditor recommended that our company convert to an electronic document control system. Currently, we have a Document Master List on Excel that needs to be manually updated and an Intranet system where documents are stored. There is also a separate system that is used for (amongst other things) tracking document approval. I've personally investigated a few different programs and have also discussed with my company's IT department about creating an in-house system for electronic document control. Due to nearly our entire workforce now working from home due to COVID-19, any talk about implementing an electronic data control system has been halted so that IT can focus on maintaining our systems as nearly everyone works from home.
I'm interested to find out if anyone here uses electronic document control and if so, which program(s) you use and whether it's outside software or something developed in-house. Any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
