Documentation in quality systems is the foundation for ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance. However, in many organizations, documentation systems become a knot of complex, redundant and excessive documents. How can we establish a documentation system that is comprehensive, robust, yet simple to maintain? How do we ensure that documentation does not become an obstacle to continuous improvement? How do we ensure that the complexity of our documentation systems does not risk compliance? The solution is lean thinking. In this presentation we will discuss how lean principles can help us untangle the documentation knot.
