Online re-certification journal
Has anyone used the online re-certification for more than one re-certification period? If so, are we supposed to delete the items from the previous re-certification period?

Thanks!

Hello Stephanie,

You can delete, or leave the items there. If you would like I can delete them for you.

Thank you,

Lisa Valle‍, does the online system put some type of hard break after those items and restart calculations or are the old items still counted and thus confusing to the person adding recert items?
The system provides a hard break once the recert journal is submitted.

I recertified last week (early to beat the price increase).  My Online Journal now shows "Current Unapplied RU" under RU Applied to Application and everything is zero.  I can also view the Recert Journal

The only unkown is how anything that is added between now and June 30 (the actual expiration) would be treated for my 2022 recert. It shouldn't apply and I don't intend to add any, but it will be interesting to see if they would drop off. I would also assume if my certification expiration had been Dec 31, 2018 and I had items from 2019 in the journal which weren't used that they would show as "Current Unapplied RU".

Thanks for the feedback Peter Stamps‍. I really like the new dashboard and it seems easy to use for recertification.
The only credits I have remaining since the " new" on-line certification roll out is for my ASQ membership.  What happened to the other credits posted?  How do I retrieve the credits posted since my last re-certification?
The online recertification journal is a nice improvement over hardcopy journals of the past.   However, as a software improvement suggestion, the system should allow the user to filter journal entries they have earned from a previous 3-year period so new new journal RUs are not added with prior records.  This filtering action could be done with simple dropdown textbox showing historic recertification period when you need to view earlier records, but they these earlier records shouldn't be mixed together with no method to isolate them out.  I recognize the option to delete records, but you shouldn't have to remove historical records to view your active points for an upcoming recertification cycle.  I also see a greyed out "Current unapplied RU" box, that looks like a feature that would address some type of filtering, but this doesn't seem to do anything.

Hi Lance
I asked our Cert team to look into this.  Here's what they had to say - hope this helps :D

The ‘Current Unapplied RUs’ selector is greyed out in Lance’s case because it looks like this is his first time submitting recertification online. The online journal does allow users to view past RUs submitted, however this only applies to RUs have been logged previously through the online system. Those who have submitted hardcopy journals in the past will not be able to view past information.

I agree with Lance’s feedback about being able to view past RUs in an organized way. Having filterable or searchable categories for reviewing past RUs would be a cool function that I think we should definitely look into when we review the online journal functionality in the future.
