The Vice President of FIESP and CIESP, José Ricardo Roriz Coelho, opened on November 6th the VI ABQ Quality 21st Century Seminar at FIESP Noble Space. For the sixth consecutive year, the Federation supports the event, sponsored by the Brazilian Academy of Quality, which in this edition addressed Brazilian competitiveness.
In his words, Roriz stressed the importance that FIESP attaches to the theme, due to the volume of Industry's participation in the country's exports. The first lectures presented data about Brazil's competitiveness position in the World.
After a panel in which Brazilian transnationals presented their practices to face international competition, it was the turn of former Minister Roberto Rodrigues, Member of ABQ and Director of GVagro (Centre for Agribusiness at Getúlio Vargas Foundation), to present the reasons for the success of Brazilian agribusiness. The program included a fair tribute to former Agriculture Minister Alysson Paolinelli, who received a plaque praising his extraordinary role in modernizing activities in national agriculture and livestock.
Organisations that technically support and foster the development of companies such as BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development, FINEP (Financing Agency for Studies and Projects), FNQ (National Foundation for Quality), MBC (Brazilian Movement for Competitiveness), SEBRAE (Brazilian Service for SMEs), and the Ministry of Economy presented real success stories where this support was important, and discussed new ideas to leverage economic and social development.
The VI Seminar, in addition to the 200 people attending in the auditorium, was accessed via Web by over 1,000 Internet users throughout Brazil.
