Hi Miguel

It all depends on what you want to do. If you'd like to stay in management the CMQ/OE is always a good call.

@Duke Okes , @Daniel Zrymiak , @Grace Duffy - Would you have any suggestions?

CQM/OE and CQA are always good. If you are an Engineer, I'd go for a CQE.

Miguel, I am delighted that you see the value in using the rigor of Certification Bodies of Knowledge to advance your career. Yes, the Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) is a broad body of knowledge for those seeking to lead and manage in the quality and business space. If you aspire to a more technical career, the Certified Quality Engineer, Software Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or Six Sigma Black Belt may fit your needs better. The Bodies of Knowledge for the ASQ Certifications are content validated to current practice in each of their disciplines. The Handbooks published by Quality Press are excellent text books, whether you sit for the Certification or not. One of the references the CMQ/OE certification exam preparation teams use beyond the CMQ/OE Handbook is The Management of Quality and Performance Excellence by Drs. James Evans and William Lindsey. This is another broad management text based on the framework developed by the National Institute of Science and Technology. The authors use the Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence strategy to format the content of this textbook that I have used for years in curricula from first year technical college students to post graduate programs.

Hello Miguel,

You have a very impressive portfolio already,

I think you should see which certifications are available in Spanish.

From that selection, you should draw from your experiences with PPAP, AMEF, Control Plans, processes, and QMS implementations.

You should consider whether you want a certification that will be yours perpetually, or one that you have to renew every 3 years. It's a lifestyle choice. I have been renewing my certs for over 20 years and am used to the 3 year cadence.

A Certified Quality Process Analyst is a very good initial step. if you can do that one, you will be well prepared toward a CQE, CMQ/OE, or CSSBB.
