Salutations from a Continuous Improvement Enthusiast

Hello MyASQ community,

My name is Amy Kay and I consider myself a continuous improvement enthusiast. I have been an efficiency lover and data-informed decision-maker since I was in middle school working on my parent's dairy farm. They would pay extra and need more of us kids on hand to cover evening chores and they still tested the herd once a quarter without fail. Based on that data, they would make decisions on which cows to keep, which cows to sell, what feed was best, etc.

Fast forward many years, now I've been paid for thinking and talking about continuous improvement for the past 9 years. I've been paid for helping teams do their work faster, better, and more effectively for the past 11 years. I currently get to promote continuous quality improvement methods in the public sector and I'm joining you all here because I believe in ASQ's mission - we need to keep getting the word out about the tenets of quality. The more we do, the better our organizations will be at decision making and the higher corporate social responsibility we'll see. That's my theory of change anyway!! Nice to meet you!

HI @Amy Czechowicz

Welcome to myASQ and thanks for becoming a member! I grew up on a farm as well - lots of life lessons and quality used daily. I have to say, I'm glad it wasn't a dairy farm though …that's a lot of work.

If you should have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Happy to connect you to people or resources to help.

all my best

Trish
