I have been in Quality for 16 years, mainly in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). I started with cleaning products, then made the transition to food, food safety and HACCP.
I am currently in the Food & Beverage industry, with 4+ years as a QM for my companies Beer Division.
What challenge do I have? Finding enough time to complete everything, but I imagine this being a quality group, that isn't anything new. We are working to evolve our Quality from QC to QA and 1st run quality.
Who do I hope to meet? - Other like minded quality personnel, I am not a beginner in quality, but maybe mid/advanced? I had some people who helped along the way, and if I can help at all, I am here.
I hold 7 certifications from ASQ and one certificate (lean), I have been on the inaugural test team for Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and I am currently a volunteer new exam chair.
So, if there is any questions, maybe i can help!
I think we all run into those same challenges, time is always a challenge.
Wow - SEVEN Certifications! Congratulations, that's quite the accomplishment. I'm sure you'll be able to help other members as they prepare for the exams.
Thanks again for joining us here & please let me know if you have any questions
Welcome to ASQ. I retired from 3M in 2015 but worked in Consumer, Industrial, Automotive, and Healthcare markets for 34 years. Every industry has its unique requirements. Though not nearly as regulated as healthcare, consumer goods manufacturers (and Quality) must be aware of the industry's various regulations, such as FTC's Fair Labeling & Practices Act, NIST Net Contents and Weights & Measures requirements, Made in USA labeling requirements, Country of Origin labeling, toy safety regulations, FDA QSR for foods and cosmetics, etc.
Hopefully, we will meet someday at a future ASQ event.
