I am a seasoned medical device manufacturing professional with 30 years of industry experience that is pretty evenly divided between manufacturing operations--purchasing, materials management, production control and even manufacturing engineering--and quality assurance. My QA experience is almost exclusively as a supplier quality engineer, and most of my SQE existence has been further split between engineering (solving technical issues) and audit/compliance efforts. When it comes to QMS compliance my approach is skewed to being "by the book," at least as it pertains to my own efforts. I am both a CQA and a CSQP with recertification approaching for both in the next several weeks.
I am very much interested in QA as a topic/function/way-of-life, but am particularly focused on supplier quality, especially auditing of suppliers. At present, ramping up virtual audits is my main focus and learning what others might be experiencing as they do the same will be very useful.
Hi William Leonard - Welcome to myASQ & thanks for being a member! Back in March (when we all went into work from home mode) we posted a blog on virtual audits. https://asq.org/blog/2020/03/learn-how-to-master-the-remote-audit/
Hope this is helpful!
An excellent resource. Thank you.
