Introducing myself
My name is Roberto Tahan. I am from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I started working in quality in 1978 as a quality analyst in a chemical company named Grace Co - Brazilian subsidiary. In 1978 I was promoted to quality control supervisor and was responsible for 6 quality inspectors. At that time I was 18 years old. Since early I had contact with SPC, quality circles, and several other tools, but I was impressed with MIL-STD-105. I used it as my first work at college. Since then, I had innumerable contact with quality tools and followed all transformation to what we today say Lean Six Sigma. Half the time of my professional life was as a plant manager. The rest of the time, directly in quality functions, including being responsible for the Latin America region. Nevertheless, all the time I used principles I early thought in quality as well as my MBA graduation. My basic background is in chemical engineering with pos graduation in quality engineer and packaging engineer. I am also certified as a lean six sigma black belt.
