I like Dr. Hare's note “STEMutation…” (October issue) but it seems to me that the problem lies much deeper than some deficiencies in teaching by ASQ, ASA, etc., hence it will not be solved by ICEA or something like it. The gist of the problem is the lack of the key element of Deming's System of Profound Knowledge: System Thinking. And this skill/habit/ability should be taught since childhood… Best wishes!

I completely agree with you that System Thinking should be taught since childhood.

The main problem I see: the teachers. In order to teach kids we need to have teachers prepared for this. And it seems to me that this work is not being done...though may be I'm wrong...
