Multifactor design of experiments (DoE) helps you understand the impact of process-factor interactions. It can be critical to ensuring manufacturing quality. Unfortunately, it is difficult to provide convincing evidence of interactions with experiments that can be easily accomplished by DoE students. Using bouncy balls, the author developed a simple experiment that generated significant interactions, thus he demonstrated how breakthrough interactions are revealed by the multifactor testing approach of statistical DoE.
