While the COVID-19 pandemic may have presented some particularly unique challenges, it is always difficult to lead through any kind of disruption. What can leaders do to help their teams through turbulent times? What should they be focused on? What makes a good leader?

Helping employees to stay calm and promote a stable environment is key.

Be resilient and motivate the team to be resilient too. Help others to see the opprtunities in a difficult situation.

Continuous 1-on-1 feedback is key to leading during turbulent times. More genuine interactions with coworkers will help foster a workplace where people feel more comfortable being themselves. Leaders just need to be available and check in with their team members to build trust, provide support, and offer flexible options that accommodate different needs. Leaders need to build relationships at the one-on-one level as a regular practice and an essential part of their work. That’s their way to empathize with their team members and build a "we culture" where team collaboration, engagement and empowerment flourishes.

In my view, everyone should be treated as an adult, and we should let go of Hierarchy becase we need to be open, quick and responsive to changing circumstances. Welcome non violent communication, train on conflict resolution, be transparent about data, distribute power and be ready to change every day
