The new Failure Modes and Effects Handbook may appear complicated, but organizations have some options for choosing between methods used. So it would be possible for formerly AIAG-influenced organizations to continue using boundary diagrams, while formerly VDA-influenced organizations may continue using structure trees. The use of action priority is new, but it is an improvement over risk priority numbers.
