I got a chance to peruse my July issue of Quality Progress and really liked the Expert Answers Column on RCA. As a Quality Manager for a small company I am responsible for facilitating the majority of RCA investigations in my company. The issues described in the column are right on. If we can't figure out the root cause quickly it's unlikely we will have a real chance to provide meaningful corrective action because the necessary resources are "diverted to an new problem."
I am familiar with the Pareto principle, but not so much the leverage point principle or span-of-control/sphere-of-influence principle. I will be doing more research on this for sure!
Anyone else have any thoughts or insights on this?
