Automotive Service and Zero Defects

The acceleration of electronic systems and consumption of semiconductor content by the Automotive industry in the past few years has been revolutionary. This is largely driven by a need for new technologies that promise to enhance the driving experience such as navigation, remote roadside assistance, and autonomous driving systems that combine data from multiple sensors with high-performance processors that make control decisions.

GLOBALFOUNDRIES, the fastest growing automotive foundry in the world, has implemented its AutoProTM Service Package, built upon three foundational pillars:

  • Quality Systems Readiness
  • Technology Platform Readiness and
  • Operational Readiness

The Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) has been developing a comprehensive approach to dramatically improving automotive supply chain quality through a document entitled Q004 Zero Defects Guideline.  This wide-ranging document provides dozens of tools and techniques that help companies institute a zero defects culture in support of improved quality and profitability, regardless of its customer base.

Michael is the GlobalFoundries Senior Manager of Automotive Quality Systems and the proud parent of the AutoProTM Service Package.  He is a Quality and Operations leader with 20 years of related experience including leading key initiatives for GlobalFoundries,  Motorola, Texas Instruments, and Silicon Labs. He is also a contributing member to the AEC Q004 Zero Defects Guideline.
