Quality Planning and Environmental Thinking in the Age of AI


The presentation will establish a clear relationship between environmental excellence goals, ISO14000 and Quality improvement initiatives. The bridge will be done between the 8 wastes, variation, and key environmental preoccupations such as plastic waste, energy, transport, travel. Examples coming from companies that we consult with such as Keurig Dr Pepper, Blackberry, and other will be used. In the age of Big Data, AI and Machine Learning, examples of applications to environmental management will be presented.

Alex Boussetta

Alex Boussetta has a Masters in Engineering Project Management, is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from Bombardier, and is as well a Lean Sensei (Master Coach and trainer). He is a Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Agile SCRUM Master (SMC) and an Environmental Professional (EP).
He also has a Professional Certification in Innovation and Technology as well as a Professional Certification in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, both from MIT.
Alex Boussetta has over 25 years of quality and operational experience. He managed global matrix structures that had over 300 employees. He participated in many company transformations, turn around initiatives. He is the founder of Abacus Team Inc. His most recent mandates include consulting and teaching in healthcare, government, manufacturing and driving quality in start-ups.
Prior to consulting, Alex Boussetta was Manager of the Six Sigma Competency Center at Bombardier Aerospace, Corporate Director of Lean at MAAX, Director of Operations at Triton Electronik, and most recently Director, Global Supply Chain and Devices Quality at Blackberry.

Alex Boussetta has also been teaching at McGill University since 2003. He is the Program Leader for Operational Excellence, which includes Lean Six Sigma, Agile Project Management, Quality systems and planning, as well as Operations management.
He trained, coached and certified over 1400 Green Belts and Lean experts, as well as 280 Black Belts and 21 Master Black Belts.

He holds a VIP award for his project management work at General Electric, as well as a Five Star Award from BlackBerry for product and services breakthroughs.


Nicolas Hudon

Consultant, Operational Excellence and Reengineering

Nicolas currently works as a consultant in Operational Excellence and Reengineering at Abacus Team. Nicolas has built his experience in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, project management, continuous improvement and reengineering.

He worked at Pomerleau, Safran Aerospace and Kevric Real Estate on various engineering projects related to Lean Six Sigma and LEED.

He currently studies in Mechanical at ETS, Montréal and holds a Degree in Pure and Applied Sciences from Champlain College. He is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and currently is completing the Black Belt Certification. He currently is the National Councillor of the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students. He also competed in various engineering consulting competitions as part of the Quebec engineering competitions.

He currently is working in various sectors such as Aerospace, asset management, education, governmental agencies, healthcare, retails and telecommunications as part of his mandate at Abacus Team. Abacus Team Inc. provides Lean Six Sigma related services, as well as Design for Six Sigma, Reliability, Agile and Quality management consulting. The most recent mandates include consulting and training in healthcare, public services, financial services, manufacturing, and supporting start-ups.

He is a highly motivated, ambitious and professional individual. He is a die-hard football fan and that transpires in his abilities and motivations to work as part of a team to implement strategies and bring the best out of every team member to achieve their ultimate goals.
