Meeting Topic
Lean management provides a powerful operating system which can drastically improve organizational performance. These performance gains are amplified when Lean is also used as a practical culture-building tool by leaders who strive to fully engage their employees and build trust within their organizations.

Two topics will be presented tonight along with a member discussion in between for each topic.
Service Process Mapping and Four Waste Training (10 min)
Discussion (10 min) – How can we do a better job supporting quality improvement in service/transactional processes?
Lean Management System Model (20 min)
Discussion (20 min) – Could viewing Lean as a “true management system” lead to expanded Lean adoption and more sustainable Lean success? For frontline managers in large organizations? For small and midsize business owners?


Speaker Bio
David Hinds is a business coach, instructor, and author. In his book, “The Essence of Lean: A Superior System of Management, he introduces a unique model for teaching and adopting this system.

His professional experience includes 20 years as a senior manager in consulting, biotechnology and transportation, 10 years as owner and general manager of a building supply distributor, and 10 years as an associate/assistant professor of decision science and entrepreneurship.
