What: AI Powered Production: The Intersection of Lean and Industry 4.0
Most industry 4.0 technologies focus on machines, yet people perform over 70% of manufacturing activities worldwide. Dr. Prasad Akella and Dr. Krishnendu Chaudhury pioneered ‘Action Detection AI’ to capture data from activities performed by human hands. They named this technology “Drishti,” a Sanskrit word meaning “focused gaze.”

Drishti has evolved into an AI-powered video traceability and analytics technology, ushering in the next generation of lean manufacturing. Dr. Jeff Liker, author of The Toyota Way, called Drishti “a revolution in the Toyota Production System.” Fortune 500 manufacturers like Toyota, Ford, and Abbott Laboratories use Drishti’s AI to improve operator training, line efficiency, and product quality.
