Who Dr. Geoff Abbott
Geoff is a 30-year career Coast Guard veteran where he held two commands, led the Performance Excellence Program, chaired the Commandant’s Innovation Council, and served as the first CG/DHS Fellow at the Homeland Security Institute. As an Excellence in Government (EIG) Senior Fellow, EIG co-coach and Partnership for Public Service Leadership Alumni Board member (18 years, two as Chair), he has led several workshops on leading change “from the middle.” Geoff recently launched his first leadership book, Unauthorized Progress – Leading ‘from the Middle’: Stories and Proven Strategies for Making Meaningful Impacts on this topic which he often speaks and writes about and gives presentations and workshops on. He currently serves as a senior faculty member teaching leadership for a federal agency.
