Packaging Testing 101

Packaging Testing is a critical component of maintaining product quality and performance. This introductory presentation will focus specifically within the food industry at quick serve restaurants, consumer packaged goods and e-commerce. We’ll begin with a broad overview of the packaging industry and various material types before transitioning to supply challenges, sustainability initiatives and how routine product testing drives improvement through performance comparisons and compliance. We’ll then move to select test method specifics performed on both raw materials and finished goods to simulate in-field use before concluding with an overview on how Clear Packaging is bridging the gap between client needs/expectations and the manufacture’s capabilities.
Speaker Biography
Julie Weisenberger is currently the Vice President of Client Services at Clear Packaging, an ISO-accredited third-party packaging testing laboratory located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Having joined the company at its infancy, Julie has served in many positions during Clear Packaging’s growth, including product analyst, customer relations manager, controller, and project manager. However, her passion has always been working with customers, which lead her back into her current leadership role. Prior to joining Clear Packaging, Julie worked as a structural inspector in the commercial construction and materials testing industry. Julie graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Civil Engineering.
