Understanding the "System": Setting Prescription Drug Prices and Vaccine Priorities

BIO: Guru Madhavan is the Norman R. Augustine Senior Scholar and director of programs of the National Academy of Engineering. A systems engineer by background, he received his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering and an M.B.A. from Binghamton University. He is author of Applied Minds: How Engineers Think (W.W. Norton) and has received the IEEE-USA Award for Distinguished Literary Contributions Furthering Public Understanding and the Advancement of the Engineering Profession. He is an elected fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.
