Ken Skiles is going to talk about what effective and non-effective Lean Programs look like and the common threads that he has witnessed that create both results. His presentation will be a mixture of examples and dialogue on Leading Lean and Transformational Change.
Ken Skiles is the Global Director of Lincoln Electric’s Corporate Operational Response Team (COR Team), Chairman of the Lowcountry Manufacturing Council (LMC), and is an ASQ-SSBB. He has over 35 years of manufacturing experience leading Lean Transformations and creating Cultural Change. Ken started his career working for Dana Corporation and then Mahle, ITT, and Lincoln Electric Corporations as he excelled through turnarounds, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. His career has provided him the unique experience of traveling and working with some of the most challenging and exciting cultures in Asia Pacific, Europe, South America, Central America, and North America. He has worked with companies at all levels of Lean implementation; from just starting Lean all the way to World Class Lean operations. He started his career as an Electronics Technician and progressed through Plant Engineering, Engineering Manager, Plant Manager, General Manager, and Corporate Operational Excellence positions. His diverse industrial background covers Tier I Automotive, Off-Highway, Industrial Products, and Service industries as well as non-union and union organizations. He uses his strong passion for Operational Excellence, Lean, and Six Sigma as his key foundations that has allowed him to cross so many boundaries and Lead Change.
