Session: "Tales from the Trenches: How to Truly Engage Cross-Functional Improvement Teams in a Remote Environment"

By Mike Osterling

Presentation Synopsis:

"One of the many changes triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic has been the increase in the number of people working remotely, which has significantly affected how we run cross-functional-team improvement activities. In the past, most of our improvement activities such as kaizen events, value stream mapping, and hoshin kanri sessions have been done in person. This proved to be a highly effective way to engage employees, surface problems, collaborate on the design of countermeasures, and drive buy-in. But in many situations that is no longer possible, or practical. Surrounded by so much change, is it even more important now to be agile and keep getting better, and we have had to explore how to engage without gathering everyone in the same space for many organizations. In this webinar learn - and see examples of - how teams have effectively used Zoom and Teams, together with tools such as Miro or Mural (collaborative, virtual, workspace apps), to drive participant engagement and achieve fantastic results."
