Conducting Effective Integrated Audits for IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
Abstract: Customers across manufacturing sectors are requiring their suppliers to be certified to multiple ISO Standards to have confidence in their capability without having to rely on second party auditing. In this presentation, Dan Reid, who was the first delegation leader of the automotive industry International Automotive Task Force (IATF), will compare ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Standards, then provide keys for conducting effective and efficient management system audits, based on his decades of audit experience. This presentation material will also include guidance from ISO and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) on effective management system auditing.
About Dan Reid: R. Dan Reid is a Quality Management / Procurement Executive, best known as an author of ISO TS/16949, QS-9000, ISO 9001 and the first ISO International Workshop Agreement, which applied ISO 9001 to healthcare. He was the first delegation leader of the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) which is responsible for ISO TS/16949 and its certification scheme. He also worked on the Chrysler, Ford and General Motors FMEA, PPAP, APQP and IAQG APQP/PPAP projects. He has now worked in 35 countries. At Omnex, he led implementation projects, trained, wrote and conducted webinars. At AIAG, he led projects for Effective Problem Solving, Cost of Poor Quality and Supplier Management. At GM, he managed the Supplier Development Administration, served on the AIAG Supplier Quality Requirements Task Force and established the initial NAO SQE curriculum. He established Supplier Quality functions at GM Service Parts and Baxter Bioscience Division's Los Angeles plant before serving as the Baxter Bioscience Supplier Quality Director. Reid an ASQ Fellow and ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Is a Past member for the US TAGs for Quality, Environmental, Medical Device and OH&S Management Systems; Trainer for AS9100D, IATF16949, ISO14001, ISO13485, ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO17025, VDA 6.3, PPAP, APQP and FMEA; American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) President’s Advisory Council member and past Board of Director; Auditor for VDA 6.3 (Certified), IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001 and others; Published Quality Press and McGraw Hill author; ASQ Administrative Committee member and Technical Reviewer; Experienced practitioner in problem solving methods, e. g. 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto; process engineering and re-engineering.
