A Lifecycle Approach to Product Sustainability

Recent surveys show that consumer behaviors are changing. No longer is cost overwhelming the single most important factor when making purchasing decisions.

Other factors such as reliability, energy efficiency and environmental impact are on the minds of both consumers and regulators. In addition, there are federal and state level regulatory drivers pushing industry toward more sustainable product solutions.

To effectively address these stakeholder concerns, sustainability must be considered throughout the entire product lifecycle. Producing sustainable products involve listening to the voice of stakeholders, designing products that are reliable and incorporate consumer must haves and value adds. Sustainable products are responsibly sourced, efficiently manufactured and distributed and managed until end of life recycling.
