Title: LSS & Forensic Science: Improving the Forensic Review Process



Description:



This session will provide with insight in how the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) DMAIC methodology was applied in a forensic laboratory to improve quality. Attendees will learn about a lab-wide project focused on improving the review process. A process that is critical to getting accurate results to customers. The presentations will cover obstacles, highlights, and results from the project. As well as, how the project work has been sustained and how it’s evolved after the project was certified.



Biography:



Paula Evans is a Project Engineer at the Houston Forensic Science Center. Paula has been leading quality and process improvement initiatives for the past seven years. During that time, she has led multiple laboratory sections to ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and launched multiple Lean Six Sigma projects. Ms. Evans holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. Paula is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and ASQ Certified Quality Auditor. She recently acquired her PMP from the Project Management Institute.
