Overview: This tour, offered both in-person and virtually, will highlight the Advanced Manufacturing Center at Vermont Technical College (Randolph Center campus) and its purpose to the college, region, state and beyond. The goal is to help businesses thrive by making advanced manufacturing technology accessible and by developing the highly-capable workforce to support it.
The Advanced Manufacturing Center houses leading-edge technology supporting the full product lifecycle, from ideation to production. Businesses and students can access design digitalization, metal and polymer additive 3D printing, advanced machining, EDM processes, heat treatment, post-processing, metrology, and metallurgy.

During the tour you will see:
  • Design: Creating snowboard and ski designs

  • Manufacturing equipment: Casting, waterjet cutting, laser cutting, machining

  • Additive manufacturing (3D Printing)
    • 4 different polymer process technologies and a range of materials

    • 2 different metal additive technologies


  • Advanced Machining: 5 axis milling & Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM)

  • Metrology lab: Current and planned equipment including CT Scanning, 3D scanning & SEM

  • Metallurgy lab: Hardness, tensile, compression and impact testing

Note: A maximum of 20 persons is allowed on the in-person tour; virtual attendees are unlimited. This complimentary event is open to members and non-members.
