LEDs, or light emitting diodes, were first used as indicator lamps, replacing small incandescent bulbs. Later developments have produced high-output white light. LED advances, along with LED high switching rates, have led to many new and potential uses.
LEDs have many advantages over other light sources, including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved physical robustness, smaller size, and faster switching. LEDs are used in many product applications as diverse as aviation automotive, product displays, medical devices, commercial & residential lighting, wallpaper, agricultural, computers, TVs… and the list goes on!
Jason “J” Orzell and Sam Colwell of LEDdynamics in Randolph, VT, will provide us with an insightful and unique perspective of LED technology, past, present and future!

 The presentation will cover:
  • LED Technology 101
  • The evolution and breakthrough in LED application
  • Quality and measurement of light
  • Quality assurance & control of LED light
  • A vision for LED’s future: is there any limit?
