The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we engage with students and teams. There are now a lot of
students who learn in a hybrid or virtual environment. Games are a unique tool that can be used to
bring together students and teams, teach new skills, and help us adapt to the modern workplace. This is
especially important for Millennials and Generation Z who have spent their entire lives playing games
and want to see them in the classroom or workplace. The presentation will provide an overview of the
history of games, explore team building games for students and teams, and share best practices for
using games in education.

About the Presenter:
Zac Jarrard is the Fearless Gaming Leader from Jarrard Consulting, LLC. The company is dedicated to
creating adaptive and innovative organizations that can survive the test of time. Jarrard Consulting, LLC
does this through assisting and supporting clients via best practices in project management and
gamification. Zac holds a Master of Science in Information Systems and Business Analytics, MPA and
MBA from Park University. His research interests include gamification, innovation, and project
management. Outside of his company, Zac is heavily involved the community. He is a proud ASQ
member who serves as the Treasurer of the Kansas City Section and will present at WCQI in 2022. Zac is
an Eagle Scout who aspires to make the world a better place for everyone.
