The Pre-Meeting Clinic is titled "So you Want to be Accredited"?   This talk will examine what the Role of an Accreditation Body is, and what they are looking for before, during, and after an Accreditation.  This may include: Evidence, Internal Audits, Risk Management, Management Reviews, and other areas.
 
The subject of the Main Presentation is "Risk Management - Implementation for Your Organization"   The focus of this evening's topic will be to demonstrate how Risk Management can be effectively put in place and utilized.  The presentation is intended to be a participation exercise, targeted at ISO (International Standards Organization) Requirements.

Our Speaker: 
R. Douglas Leonard Jr. - Vice President at ANSI National Accreditation Board/ANAB

Doug is the Vice President of the Product, Inspection, Laboratory and Related activities (PILR) strategic business unit for the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB). ANAB is a signatory of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) multilateral recognition arrangements. Accreditation bodies around the world typically pursue IAF and ILAC recognition through one of the recognized regional cooperation’s of these organizations.  Doug has over 15 years of experience in conformity assessment as an assessor and trainer.  He is a proven auditor, assessor and evaluator performing countless audits, assessments and evaluations around the globe.   

Doug is the delegate for ILAC representing ANAB and helps the international accreditation community by working within the Arrangement and Accreditation Committees. His directly involvement is within working group two improving traceability and measurement uncertainty in our community. Doug is a Past President for (NACLA), National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation, a national recognition authority for accreditation bodies. Doug assists with standard development through his chairmanship with the Accreditation Body Subcommittee for ASTM. Doug recently has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Independent Laboratory Institute.

Doug’s technical background includes a wide variety of mechanical and metallurgical testing as a Technical Manager and signatory.  As an owner/operator of his own Dimensional Measurement/Calibration laboratory, Doug extended his technical knowledge to many physical/dimensional aspects of measurement.  His strength is in GD&T and Dimensional measurement uncertainty while he keeps up to date on the other various levels of uncertainty for most of the physical and dimensional measurements of calibration.
