Topic abstract: "Quality" is a concept that is closely related to ethics, for to call something "quality" means that we are making value judgments about what is good, safe, acceptable, etc. for a specific situation for a specific reason in view of a specific standard. Absolutely every link in that chain is shot through with important, sometimes difficult ethical considerations, which means that people interested in quality—as the good folks at ASQ certainly are—should have a natural interest in the study of ethics, too. This talk will approach the subject of ethics in three steps: acknowledging, identifying, and doing that which is "good."

Speaker: Doug Ponder (MDiv, ThM) serves as the professor of ethics and biblical theology at Grimké Seminary in Richmond, VA. He is also the founding minister of Remnant Church, where he has served for over a decade. He and his wife, Jessica, have four boys: Athanasius, Lukas, John, and Mark.
