Training and Development Needs
Hi Folks, Training and Development is part of the BoK. I'm wondering, what Training and Development are would you like to see more information be made available? For instance, do we need more webinars on curriculum development? Training Plans? Training Needs Analysis? Training Materials? Training Effectiveness and Evaluation? If you could have more content shared here on My ASQ or through QMD, what T&D topic would be most relevant?

Hi Susan,
Thanks for posing these questions. I would enjoy a series of webinars on developing curriculum with regards to Blooms Taxonomy. How does the information at EACH stage differ from the stage below and above it? The webinars should include examples of information presented, examples, interactive exercises, sample quiz questions to reinforce learning, etc.
It would be especially helpful to me if this information were related to Lean Six Sigma.
Thanks - Jim Spichiger
I'm interested in more software-specific training such as SOUP/COTS/OTS in medical devices and SaMD products.
Hi Susan,

I am responding to your inquiry or training and development needs as part of BoK. I am a returning ASQ member that changed jobs in 2017 to a company that did not see Quality or ASQ as beneficial so I made the mistake of letting my CQA cert expire. I have changed companies again and rejoined ASQ with the intent to recertify. Back in 2008 when I originally joined ASQ, the BoK was a few 3 ring binders of selected information broken up on sections and tabbed, it now appears to be a list of published books which makes the note taking/tabbing/highlighting more difficult not to mention a lot more reading. Is there a class you can have on this?

Thansk,

sh
Hi Scott, that's a really interesting idea. I am going to raise that with QMD and see what we can do about that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi QMD! Anyone want to step up and volunteer to host a webinar on this topic? This may be your chance to help and mentor others. Let me know if you are interested. Great idea James!

Susan,
I like your idea of framing a presentation around Blooms Taxonomy....to show how the progression deepens the learning. Learning and Development Philly just did a webinar that showed a progression of online learning approaches that got this type of point across. Of course the price tag increased for development as well as the learning.

I think Miro could be used to aid this conversation by being part of the webinar. I would LOVE to do this. Let's make it happen.

OK, Diana Baldi‍ let's make this happen!
Hi Susan,
I've been certified since 1995 and teaching the refresher course for the local sections since 1996.
Here are 2 slides I used to explain Bloom levels to the students.
Maybe you can find it useful as a starting point.
I'd be happy to help.
