My experience in using lean 6 sigma is hands on in response to real Quality issues. I am not true academic but have taught advanced quality at the college level. I find that it is difficult to teach those in management who possess even a higher level of education as the stats used in 6 sigma to some are a waste of time , seeking to problem solve by using their assumptions and bullying the team who are under their control. The Lean methodology is simple enough but has now become a tool to use against the worker not for the worker. When that becomes the case the workers usually refuse to work with the team , and it becomes a management only process. A lot can be leaned from E. Deming in regard to how quality can fail. I suggest management be trained in the14 principle's before any Lean 6 sigma work begins.
