November is World Quality Month

November is World Quality Month, and always makes me reflect on how good the quality profession has been to me. My career spanned 40 years. I worked in a wide variety of industries, from bulk chemical manufacture, to the semiconductor industry, to construction and finally to aerospace. As you can imagine, in that length of time, the economy had its ups and downs. My quality skillset remained in demand regardless of the stock market and I was never without a job. Remember that your skills are completely transferrable to any business or industry. I believe that working in quality is the closest you can come to job security. The contributions of quality professionals has greatly enhanced our society and the world at large. Be proud to work in quality. I always have been.
