If you are a QUALITY ASSURANCE AND CONTROL professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an extraordinary opportunity for you! Based in our SIDNEY, OHIO location, you will represent Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) to provide critical input during new program development and implementation achievements regarding design for manufacturing and voice of supplier. You'll own the tracking of PPAP status for New Product Development (NPD) Programs from an SQE coordination standpoint. Your primary focus will be Air Management & Centrifugal programs along with Commercial scroll derivatives. This position will report directly to the existing AC NPD engineer who has the responsibility of the KF programs and all remaining Unitary AC & REF scroll programs.
AS A SR./LEAD NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SQE, YOU WILL:
Attend NPD meetings (including weekly Engineering Team Sessions, Gate Reviews, Design / FMEA Reviews) and represent SQE interests in these discussions. Present status of SQE department responsibilities such as PPAP approval status and corrective actions to all management levels. Coordinate Commodity SQE involvement as necessary.
Assist Procurement Program Manager in assuring that adequate design/print reviews occur with Suppliers and Commodity SQEs for new outsourced parts.
Provide recommendations as to part manufacturability and provide improvement suggestions to Emerson Product / Design Engineering. Involve Commodity SQEs as appropriate to provide DFM recommendations to promote robust product manufacturability and quality.
Maintain project & PPAP status lists of new and changed part numbers for programs assigned. Communicate upcoming achievements to commodity SQE’s to maintain the overall project schedule.
Use core quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, Gage R&R / Correlation / Certification, Statistical tools (SPC), Control
Plans, FMEA, 8D problem solving & reviewing process flow documents to complete production launches.
Apply knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes to improve product designs for manufacturability by suppliers. Assist in developing fixture and gaging requirements appropriate to part criticality and volume. Support secondary operations such as heat treating, balancing, and sub-assembly operations.
Use verbal and written communication skills across multiple levels of management at Emerson and suppliers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree in technical major plus at least 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience (Co-op experience considered).
Experience with relevant manufacturing processes used in medium and high-output production.
Familiar with quality tools such as RC/CA, SCAR's, PPAP's, Gage R&R, Controls Plans
Shown understanding of GD&T and Statistical Process Controls
Ability to travel 25% to 30% of the time

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Prefer a degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering plus 7+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Certifications in ASQ (CSQP, CQA, CQE, CQM, Internal Auditor), Certified 6 Sigma Green Belt or equivalent.
