Job Description
Continuous Improvement Process Engineer  
Marion, Ohio area 
Salary up to 80K 

Automotive supplier is seeking a Continuous Improvement Process Engineer to work in their assembly department. As the Continuous Improvement Process Engineer, you will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for an assigned work area.   Daily you will be responsible for supporting production lines, increasing efficiencies and decreasing scrap.  Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Decreasing downtime of equipment and increasing efficiencies 

  • Developing and improving line layouts and making line modifications

  • Improving processes and sustaining improvements 

  • Overseeing timelines for multiple CI projects at a time

  • Preparing cost justifications for CI proposals  

  • Designing fixtures and gauges in 2D and 3D software

  • Assisting with mechanical troubleshooting as needed 

  • Overseeing capital equipment projects, including monitoring timelines and budgets

  • Travel to supplier sites and other company locations as needed 

  • Other duties as directed by management

 


This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 80% of their day. You will be on the manufacturing floor daily, communicating with the production staff and working with your team to continuously improve production. This site offers the opportunity to work with automation and robotics. Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, communicating with hourly staff to enhance production and being creative in the continuous improvement process. REQUIREMENTS for the Continuous Improvement Process Engineer:
1. A minimum of an Associate’s degree with at least two years of similar process engineering experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least co-ops or internships in similar process engineering positions
2. Experience working in manufacturing environments, ideally high volume
3. Experience implementing process improvements (scrap reductions, increasing efficiencies, etc.)
4. Mechanical aptitude  
5. Basic project management skills
6. Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Capital budget experience 
2. Robotic and/or PLC troubleshooting 
3. Automotive supplier experience
