There has been a lot of discussion recently about certifications -- and our leaders are always asked about Lean Certification. Members want to know if Lean Certification is needed and where do you earn Lean Certification. There is no pat answer and sometimes Lean Six Sigma Certification includes enough Lean to serve you. It all depends on your job and what project you anticipate. Is Waste elimination your project goal? Let us know your thoughts. By the way, most of the leaders in the Lean Enterprise Division have at least Lean Bronze Certification (LBC) from the former ASQ/AME/SME/Shingo partnership.
This is definitely something that I was asked a lot this year at WCQI.
Personally, I'm definitely interested in a Professional Lean Certificate as someone who is just starting my career. LEAN isn't something my school touched on, so I like using a certificate to showcase my knowledge.
Interesting point -- perhaps focusing on a "Lean Professional Certificate" would be a good start.
