Message From the Chair - February 2023

Thank you to all the ASQ Section 1001 Members & Guests who are “ENGAGED”!

Engagement: Websters definition is “the action of engaging or being engaged”. The Section Leadership Committee is excited to see our metrics beginning to stabilize because of members like YOU doing just that, becoming engaged. Thank you!

However, the SLC is extremely concerned because the Section Membership count continues to decline, in 2022 we had an average membership of 247 members/month, in 2018 we averaged over 400 members. We are very open to any new ideas and would welcome a reversal to this trend. Come join us in February and bring a friend, that could help! Network, talk about ideas, and we look forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions!

Come and hear another high-quality presentation on Project Management for Quality by Brandon Kerkstra. Don’t forget our new format does not include dinner, so eat before you come or join us beforehand at Burger Theory, inside the Pearl Street Holiday Inn and network there.

This month the Holiday Inn had a conflict with our start time, so everything will be moved back by a half hour. Come relax, grab a beverage at the bar if you would like, and network with your friends and meet new people. The cost will be $15.00 for everyone, virtual or in-person. Use the link provided on myASQ, in this newsletter, or found in the reminder e-mail. The link is also available on Facebook and LinkedIn, just search ASQ Grand Rapids Section 1001.

The SLC strives to provide the section with relevant member value, while keeping the Grand Rapids Section viable, healthy and thriving for years to come. We look forward to pursuing Knowledge – Networking – Opportunities with our knowledgeable quality professionals in West Michigan.

Thank you for supporting the Grand Rapids Section!

Chad Wittkopp,

Chair Grand Rapids Section 1001
